Transfer Station
Please be advised: The Bag Tag Program was discontinued April 1, 2023. All bags of household residential waste brought to the Transfer Station will be charged if disposed of at the Transfer Station.
The Township of Cavan Monaghan Transfer Station at 1427 Syer Line, Fraserville, is open to all our residents.
The Reuse Center at the Transfer Station re-opened April 1, 2023.
Hours of operation:
- Monday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
- Tuesday to Thursday, Closed
- Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
- Saturday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
- Sunday, Closed
Fees and charges
Please note: Only debit will be accepted as payment for additional bag tags and excess waste.
- Bag Tags - $3.00 each
- Excess waste or construction waste - Fee determined by our attendants ($10.00 minimum)
- Scrap Metal - Free
- Tires (with or without rims) - Free
The Public Works User Fee and Charges By-law notes the fees for other items that can be disposed of at the Transfer Station.
Bag tags
The Bag Tag Program will be discontinued April 1, 2023. All bags of household residential waste disposed of at the Transfer Station will be charged as per the User Fees and Charges By-law.
Items we accept
Please be considerate to Transfer Station attendants and other users and put your waste items in the correct locations.
Gently used items |
You can drop off gently used items such as lamps, dishes, and small household items to the Re-Use Centre on-site at the Transfer Station. Textiles and/or clothing are not accepted at the Re-use Centre but you are encouraged to donate these items to the Diabetes Canada bins on site. |
Recycling and bulky plastic |
Recycling collection is a service provided by the County of Peterborough to residents in the Township. The County of Peterborough has Depot Bins located at the Transfer Station which residents my drop off their recyclable material to. Please adhere to the proper sorting requirements set by the County - such as making sure to sort fibres and papers from your plastic and cans. Bulky Plastic ProgramThe Transfer Station does not currently have a Bulky Plastic Program. Please visit the County of Peterborough to find more information on drop-off spots for these items. |
Tire collection |
Tires (with or without rims) can be disposed of free of charge at the Transfer Station at 1427 Syer Line, Fraserville. An attendant will direct you to where you can place your tires. |
Electronic waste and battery collection |
The Transfer Station accepts Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Material. We also accept used batteries. Before dropping off personal devices, make sure to remove all of your personal information. |
Items not accepted
- Mattresses and box springs are accepted at the Peterborough Waste Management Facility at 1260 Bensfort Road, Peterborough.
- Freon items are accepted at the Peterborough Waste Management Facility at 1260 Bensfort Road, Peterborough.
- Household hazardous waste Items are accepted at the Peterborough Household Hazardous Waste Depot at 400 Pido Road, Peterborough.
