Burn Permits

All open air burning within the Township requires a Burn Permit. Permits are valid for one year from the date of purchase. Residents must activate their permit using the numbers provided on the permit before and after each burn.

During the evolving COVID-19 situation, Municipal facilities are closed to the public.  Burn permits  can be secured through any of the following channels:

  • Complete the online form(for brush or campfire permits only) .  
  • Special burn permits must be secured by calling the Fire Chief directly at 705-932-9342.  
  • By emailing services@cavanmonaghan.net - please include the following information:
    • Applicant Name
    • Applicant Address
    • Address of the Burn Site
    • Applicant Phone Number (Home and/or Cell)
    • Purpose of the permit i.e. brush fire, campfire or special burn permit

If you have an old burn permit please include that in the email (if possible) with the above information.

  • You can call 705-932-2929 and someone will be happy to generate a permit for you over the phone.  The permit can either be mailed to you by regular mail or by email.
