Payment Options

The Township of Cavan Monaghan has a variety of payment options available to pay tax, water and wastewater or any other municipal bills.

  • By mail - cheques, along with your payment stub
  • In Person - at the Municipal Office by cash, cheque, interact (within office hours, not during municipal/pandemic closures)
  • Drop Off Box – at the Municipal Office by cheque in the after hours drop box (located at the main front door)
  • At your local bank branch
  • Through your Mortgage Company (Property Taxes only)
  • Telephone/On-line banking - If you currently use on-line and/or telephone bill payments through your Canadian Financial Institution you have access to pay bills easily from the comfort of your home as part of your banking agreement, without any third-party fees/charges.
    1. For any payment type below, to add the Township of Cavan Monaghan as a payee by selecting the 'add a payee' option in your online/telephone banking and type "Cavan". This will result in a list of three (3) available options.
    2. Select the payment type from the populated list of three (3) available options;
      • Property Tax payments, select the Cavan Monaghan (TWP) TAXES. Enter your 19-digit roll number found on your tax bill. All roll numbers begin with 1509 and end with 0000. Please ensure you have entered the number correctly.
      • Water & Wastewater payments, select Cavan Monaghan (TWP) UTILITIES. Enter the last 5 digits of your account number found on your Water & Wastewater Utility bill. Please ensure you have entered the number correctly.
      • General payments (any other municipal invoices; i.e. facility/park rentals, burn permits, dog tags, marriage certificates, etc.), select Cavan Monaghan (TWP) GENERAL. Enter the full 10 digits of your account number, which starts with a number “4”, as found on your invoice. Please ensure you have entered the number correctly.
    • Note; Numbers 1 and 2 listed above are only required the first time you set up Cavan Monaghan as a payee with your financial institution. Thereafter, you may choose Cavan Monaghan from your available list of payees.
  • Pre-Authorized Monthly and Installment Payment Plan - complete the application form and return the signed application form, including a void cheque, to the municipality by email, mail or after hours drop box.
  • Water & Sewer Pre-Authorized Payment Plan - complete the application form, and return the signed application form, including a void cheque, to the municipality by email, mail or after hours drop box.
  • Coming Soon - Online (services fees applicable) payment by Visa or MasterCard powered by Paymentus Corporation

epostTM

Canada Post has decided to no longer provide epostTM services, with an effective termination date of October 31, 2022. 

During this transition period, the Township of Cavan Monaghan will mail a hardcopy of Property Tax and/or Utility Bills to the residential mailing address for epostTM subscribers, to ensure residents are receiving these documents.  Canada Post has been encouraging their customers to subscribe to other payment options.  Please feel free to utilize any of the municipal payment options as listed above.
