Committees and Boards
The Township of Cavan Monaghan establishes a number of Advisory Committees and Boards after each election for the term of the newly elected Council. The purpose of the Advisory Committee is to make recommendations to Council that will assist the Council members in making sound decisions on matters relating to each Advisory Committee and the community in general.
The Township of Cavan Monaghan acknowledges the value of committees and the advice they provide to Council. The creation, amendment, dissolution and administration of committees shall be conducted in a fair and equitable manner and should be established to provide advice to Council as mandated in the Terms of Reference.

Business Improvement Area (B.I.A.) Board of Management |
The Business Improvement Area (BIA) Board of Management helps to ensure that the designated Business area focuses on improvements to beautification, maintenance of buildings and structures and economic benefits to the businesses. The BIA meets on the first Thursday of every month at 8:00 a.m. at the Municipal Office. The Township is seeking additional volunteers to fill the full compliment for the Board of Management for the 2022-2026 Term of Council. Applicants must be persons assessed for business assessment in respect of land in the area or nominees of corporations so assessed. Interested applicants are welcome to apply online. Cavan Monaghan Public Library Board |
The Cavan Monaghan Public Library Board looks after both libraries Millbrook and Bruce Johnson. Meetings are held at the Millbrook Branch (unless otherwise specified) at 7:00 p.m. on the 3rd Tuesday of each month (except July and August). Council Representation: Mayor Graham 2023-2026 Members

Millbrook Valley Trails Advisory Committee |
The Millbrook Valley Trails Advisory Committee maintains and enhances the Millbrook Valley Trails passive use trails system. The Committee meets on the fourth (4th) Monday of the month except July, August and December or as otherwise approved by Committee and shall hold a minimum of five (5) meetings per year. Meetings will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Municipal Office and will be livestreamed and recorded. Council Representation: Councillor Nachoff 2023-2026 Members

Municipal Revitalization and Heritage Advisory Committee (MRHAC) |
The Municipal Revitalization and Heritage Advisory Committee encourages heritage of the Municipality and the important of revitalization throughout the Municipality. The MRHA Committee shall meet quarterly each year. Meetings will occur during the months of January, March, June and September on the third (3rd) Thursday of the month or as otherwise approved by the Committee. Meetings will take place from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. in the Municipal Council Chambers, Committee Room or an alternative option when required. Meetings will be livestreamed and recorded. Committee of Adjustment |
The Committee of Adjustment considers land owners requests on minor variances and changes to legal non-conforming uses through a Public hearing process as requests come forward. The Committee of Adjustment will meet as required. Meeting dates and times will be established in consultation with member availability during regular business hours, Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Meetings may be held in the Township of Cavan Monaghan Council Chambers located at 988 County Road. 10, Millbrook or an alternative option when required. Sustainability Advisory Committee |
The Sustainability Advisory Committee promote sustainable practices throughout the community with The Sustainability Advisory Committee shall hold a minimum of four (4) meetings per year. Meetings will occur on a date and time agreed to by the Committee. Meetings will take place in the Municipal Council Chambers, Committee Room or an alternative option when required. Meetings will be livestreamed and recorded. Additional meetings may be held as required at the call of the Chair and recommendation of staff.
