Organic Waste Program Information
Accepted Items: Millbrook Residents Only |
You can check to see what is accepted as organic waste in the Organic Waste Sorting Guide. |
Curbside Collection |
Your green curbside bin will be collected weekly on the same day as your garbage and recycling. You do not need to wait for your bin to be full to have it collected. The curbside green bin requires a liner or compostable bag for collection. Two types of liner bags are accepted:
You can line your small kitchen catcher with a compostable bag, paper bag, newspaper, or have no liner at all. When you fill the curbside green bin, you can empty the contents of the kitchen collector, including your bag or liner, into your curbside bin. |
Backyard Composting |
If you are interested in backyard composting the County of Peterborough sells a variety of composters at the County Public Works Office (310 Armour Road, Peterborough). Peterborough County is now taking applications for the 2024 Garbage to Garden Program. Apply to participate in the program and have a composter or digester delivered and installed at your home!
