Hunnabees

Hunnabees Honey is owned and operated by Dave and Keri Nicolaou, third-generation beekeepers. Their mission is to educate and equip both beekeepers and the public to help pollinators thrive by promoting ethical and responsible beekeeping, with a strong focus on education and the environment.

They purchased their 100-acre farm in Millbrook in 2016. In 2017, they broke ground on a 6,000 sq. ft. education facility and began operating the business full-time in 2018. Hunnabees strives to reduce the environmental impact of their farm and honey production through ongoing innovation and waste reduction.

They cultivate pollinator-friendly crops, including milkweed, coneflower, lavender, and borage, among others. The farm features acres of wildflowers, with new areas added each year. For every jar of natural honey sold 10 flowers are planted. They aim to expand this initiative in the coming years through new sites and increased community participation.

As new parents, Dave and Kerry have recently reopened the farm to the public for the first time since 2022, and look forward to continuing their partnership with the Junior Beekeeper Program and expanding on-farm offerings for the 2025–2026 season.
