Level 2 Low Water Condition

The Otonabee Region Water Response Team has declared a Level 2 Low Water condition for the Otonabee Region watershed.

Residents and businesses are urged to reduce their water use by 20%. The average Canadian uses approximately 225 litres of water per day—a 20% reduction equals about 40 litres. Simple actions can make a big difference:

  • Take shorter showers
  • Turn off the tap while brushing teeth
  • Use rain barrels to water gardens
  • Run full loads in dishwashers and washing machines

Watershed residents are asked to educate themselves and follow any municipal water restrictions currently in place.  For more tips and updates on drought conditions, visit www.otonabeeconservation.com.
