Earth Day Celebration Highlights Learning, Local Action, and Sustainability

Residents are invited to celebrate Earth Day at a community event designed to inspire environmental action through hands‑on education and local engagement.

On Saturday, April 18 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., the Township of Cavan Monaghan invites residents to take part in its annual Earth Day Celebration—an interactive opportunity to learn from local vendors offering educational materials and practical guidance on reducing your carbon footprint. Attendees are encouraged to explore new ways to integrate sustainability into everyday life and connect with municipal staff who are ready to support their environmental goals.

Residents can also purchase:

  • Native Species Trees – $15 each
  • Pollinator Packs (sun, shade or boulevard) – $40 each
  • Rain Barrels – $50 each

Local organizations will be on-site providing knowledge, demonstrations, and resources focused on sustainability, environmental stewardship, and community well‑being.

"Earth Day is about empowering residents with the knowledge and tools to make meaningful environmental choices," said Mayor Matthew Graham. "By learning together and taking action as a community, we can create a healthier, more sustainable future for generations to come."

This Earth Day, grow something good—and grow your connection to your community.
