Fall Leaf & Yard Curbside Pick-up

The following is a list of 2026 Fall Leaf and Brush Curbside Collection for Cavan, Millbrook and North Monaghan residents:  

Week of October 12 to 16, 2026

Week of October 26 to 30, 2026

Week of November 9 to 13, 2026

Week of November 23 to 27, 2026

Please Note:  A single collection will occur during each week listed above. Collection may occur on any day of the week!!

Please have brush bundled in 3-foot lengths, with each bundle weighing no more than 30 pounds, and leaves in paper leaf bags. Please have all material to the curb on Monday at 7:00 a.m. 

No Plastic Bags 

Yard waste in reusable bins will be accepted along with brown paper bags as long as there is no mixed garbage with it.

The 2026 Municipal Election takes place October 26.  Make sure you are on the voter's list! Contact the Clerk's Department 705-932-9326.

Christmas Tree - Drop Off

What to do with your Christmas Tree after the holidays?

Keep it in your garden! 

  • The branches and trunk provide shelter for birds and wildlife during cold nights and winter storms.

Garden Mulch

  • Once the needles fall, cut the branches and trunk to place near spring flower beds. This helps retain soil moisture.

For the 2025–2026 season, Peterborough County will be accepting natural Christmas Trees for composting at the Douro Depot (713 County Road 4).

  • Free of charge during daylight hours
  • Available until January 11, 2026
Please follow signage and place trees in the designated areas.
Please ensure all decorations, tree stands, bags, and nets are removed. 
Artificial trees are not accepted.

Additional option:

  • The Peterborough County/City Waste Management Facility (Bensfort Road Landfill) will also accept trees for composting. Tipping fees apply.
