Council Supports Interim Public Parking Locations in Downtown Millbrook
Cavan Monaghan Township Council has supported a recommendation to make four Township-owned properties available as interim public parking locations to help address ongoing parking pressures in Downtown Millbrook.
The approved recommendation will see the Township offer temporary public parking at:
- 52 King Street
- 1 Union Street
- 3 Centre Street
- 5 Centre Street
The initiative is intended to provide additional interim parking options while the community continues to experience increased demand for downtown parking and while construction and redevelopment activities impact existing parking availability.
The temporary use of these municipally owned properties is expected to add an additional 60 parking spaces to the downtown area, helping residents, visitors, shoppers, and local businesses access Downtown Millbrook more conveniently.
"Council is very happy to be able to use these lands we’ve acquired to help create more parking opportunities for our residents to support the businesses and events in the village of Millbrook," says Mayor Matthew Graham.
The interim parking program will remain in place at Council's discretion. Township staff will install signage and undertake a public awareness campaign to help residents identify the new parking locations.
Residents are reminded that Township parking lots are intended for transient parking only and overnight parking is not permitted.
