Burn Permits

Please note: Burn restrictions/bans will be posted on the Township website (as a pop up alert on the home page) and social media channels.  If you have transferred over to the new burn permit system you will receive notifications automatically.

All open air burning within the Township requires a Burn Permit. Permits are valid for one year from the date of purchase

  • Campfire
  • Brush
  • Special burn permits must be secured by calling the Fire Chief directly at 705-932-9342 to set up a site visit.

Lack of precipitation and/or adverse weather conditions (i.e. high winds, high smog levels, extreme heat, etc) often require restrictions surrounding open air burning in the Township. Burn restrictions are posted in the News and Notices section of the Township website and through our social media channels. Where can I get a burn permit?

Permits may be obtained at the following places during hours of operation:

Payment Options
  • In Person - at the Municipal Office by cash, cheque or interact.  The office hours are Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Reception is unavailable between 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm daily.
  • In Person- at both Libraries by Cash Only, during business hours.
  • Online – payments are made via Square.
