2018 Municipal Election Information

Beginning May 1st, 2018, nominations will be accepted for anyone interested in running for a position on the Township of Cavan Monaghan Council in the Municipal Election on October 22, 2018.  Those who are interested must provide a completed nomination form along with the prescribed fee and new for the 2018 Municipal Election - nomination papers must be submitted with the signatures of 25 eligible voters supporting the nomination.  The Township of Cavan Monaghan will accept nominations for the following positions:

Important Dates for the 2018 Municipal Election:

Nomination Period - Tuesday, May 1, 2018 - Friday, July 27, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.

Final Nomination Day - Friday, July 27, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. This is the last day for candidates to file a nomination paper with the Clerk.  This is also the last day for withdrawal.

Voting Day - Monday, October 22, 2018

No Paper Ballots for the 2018 Municipal Election:                                                   

  • Council has once again supported telephone and internet voting for the 2018 Municipal Election.  This will allow voting 24 hours a day, during October 9th until October 22nd from any telephone or any device that provides internet access.
  • There will be no paper ballots.
  • Please watch for your Voter Information Letter to be mailed to you directly in September or early October 2018, providing you with a Personal Identification Number (PIN).
